Diabetic Patients

Diabetes can affect the fertility of men and women directly and indirectly, the person can present problems to procreate.

In the case of man, certain patients will actually develop erectile dysfunction. They may also occur ejaculation disorders such as retrograde ejaculation and anejaculation. The quality of sperm is also affected as reduced concentration and mobility thereof is presented, with major alterations in form and further damage their DNA.

In women also causes fertility disorders because insulin has effects on secretion of gonadotropins and folliculogenesis, presenting a shortening of the reproductive period in later and menopause at an earlier age at menarche.

Whereas the period of diabetic patients with better quality fertility of eggs and sperm would be limited, preserving their fertility is recommended. This would allow control preconception that pregnancy is given at the right time with favorable results.
